Capacity: 17,250
Opened: 2020
Location: Lionel Road, Brentford
The Gtech Community Stadium, home of Brentford FC, is one of the newest and most modern stadiums in the Premier League. Opened in 2020, it’s located in Brentford, West London, just a short walk from Kew Bridge, making it easily accessible by train, bus, and even by foot along the River Thames.
This sleek 17,250-capacity ground replaced the club’s much-loved Griffin Park, famous for having a pub on each corner, and now stands as a symbol of Brentford’s rise through the English football pyramid. While bigger and more advanced than their old home, the Gtech still retains an intimate feel thanks to its steep stands and compact design, with supporters close to the action, creating a loud and intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams.
Beyond football, the stadium is also designed as a multi-purpose venue, hosting rugby fixtures, concerts, and community events, underlining its role as a modern hub for sport and culture in West London. With its blend of cutting-edge facilities and traditional football passion, it perfectly captures the spirit of the Bees’ loyal supporters while pointing firmly towards the future.
Jim Towers – Brentford’s all-time leading goalscorer with 163 goals, a prolific forward whose consistency in the 1950s and 1960s made him a club legend.
Ken Coote – The ultimate Brentford man with a record 559 appearances between 1949 and 1964, a one-club hero whose loyalty and consistency are unmatched.
George Francis – Fearless striker of the 1960s who formed a lethal partnership with Jim Towers, scoring over 120 goals for the Bees.
Kevin O’Connor – Modern club stalwart, the midfielder and defender who made over 500 appearances, helping the Bees rise through the divisions and captaining them in key seasons.
Alan Judge – Midfield maestro of the 2010s, remembered for his skill, leadership, and crucial goals that helped Brentford reach the Championship play-offs.
Ivan Toney – Record-breaking striker who scored 31 goals in 2020–21, breaking the Championship single-season scoring record and leading Brentford to Premier League promotion.
Eddie May – Defender and captain during the 1980s, known for his toughness and leadership on the pitch during a transformative period for the club.
Peter Gelson – Long-serving defender of the 1960s and 1970s, nicknamed “Captain Brentford” for his leadership and dedication over more than 400 appearances.
Mickaël Tavares – Midfield enforcer who helped solidify Brentford’s competitive presence in the Championship during the early 2000s.
